Probably not the fanciest place in town, but good place for honest and tasty food. The menu offers quite a large selection of Japanese and Korean food, and the staff is prompt and kind

We used to get takeout from here at least 3 to 4 times a month just because it's the closest sushi joint to our area. We've now just been ordering delivery.

The sushi just isn't good but it was better than no sushi.

Another sushi restaurant in Olympic village would be a great business opportunity!

The employees are always nice though when you go to pick up your order.

Pretty standard sushi joint, but I'm a bit shocked by the hate in some of the other reviews, especially regarding service. Food, well, that's unfortunately another story... would have given a 2.5 overall if yelp allowed it.

Service (5/5): Upon arrival I was immediately greeted and seated, followed by ice cold water and hot tea. All smiles, and checked on me regularly but not too much. Honestly, very impressed, great attitude. She could have used a bit of help when it got a bit busier, as some customers did appear to have to wait for bills etc, she was literally running around.

On a slightly hungover Saturday morning, I tried the beef "lunch box" ($11) includes teri beef, 4 piece tempura (one prawn), 8 piece cali roll, 2 veg gyoza, and a little green salad

Miso soup (2.5/5): hot, but pretty run of the mill. No tofu or wakame

Gyoza (2/5): a bit greasy, and not a ton of flavour

Tempura (3.5/5): the prawn was cooked nicely, crisp but a bit heavy on the batter. The veg were pretty standard, but good.

Teri beef (2/5): the beef didn't do it for me, felt like it was cooked ahead of time. Flavour/seasoning was okay.

Cali Roll (1/5): it's hard to mess up a cali roll, but this was just not good. Too much rice, not well seasoned, and the "crab" mix was just too mayo'd out. Tiny slivers of avo. Don't do it :(

Green salad (3/5): Was hoping for a nicely acidic ginger-soy type dressing, but this was not. More on the fruity sweet side. Basic mesclun green, were fresh and crisp.

Can someone please open a half decent sushi joint in Olympic village?

This is a decent Japanese restaurant in an area lacking this kind of food. The tempura udon is great comfort food on a cold day. Being hungry,  I added a scallop roll and walked away stuffed, and content.

Portion size is good, as I found out when I ordered a sushi combo plate, and chicken karaage. I enjoy a full meal and had plenty left over to take home.

I especially like the California roll which had a distinct crab flavour to it.

I saw some negative reviews about the restaurant and the food here. These people ordered sushi, sashimi and other dishes. I only came here once and tried their lunch box. Based on this only one time eating experience, I could only judge based on their lunch box was delicious. The price was reasonably cheap on the bento box at $10. It had many varieties that I could taste a little bit of everything.

My lunch box was a beef teriyaki one. It included a bowl of miso soup, beef teriyaki with veggies and rice, prawn and veggies tempura, two gyozas, California roll and some salad. The whole combo was perfect that I didn't really have anything to criticize.

The customer service was ok. It would be great if the servers could smile a little bit more and be more friendly. I wouldn't mind to go back and try other dishes and see if it was true that many people complained about the food.
